What are some words of wisdom you would give to a new or incoming student in your program?
Although it might sound cliche, this program truly is a marathon and not a sprint. Self-care is so important as you juggle the many demands of this program including research, courses, clinical practicum, and other opportunities that may be of interest such as teaching. Also, take the time to foster connections with peers and colleagues in the program. Your support circle will be invaluable as you navigate the highs and lows of a challenging yet incredibly rewarding program!
What next?
Currently, I am completing my supervised practice year in a private practice setting where I do a combination of assessment, therapy, and consultation with children, youth, and families. I am excited to finally register as a child and adolescent psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario!
Why ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø?
One of the things I enjoyed most about the program were the diverse opportunities available for research, clinical work, and teaching. The breadth of opportunities allowed me to carve out a career path in line with my values, goals, and interests. One of the highlights of my time at ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø was fostering a strong sense of community. I met other students and colleagues who are now lifelong friends. I am incredibly grateful for my time at ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø!
