ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø Faculty Tenure & Continuing Status Announcement

I am delighted to share the news that two exemplary members of our faculty have been promoted and awarded tenure or continuing status by the University of Toronto. I would like to thank the members of the tenure and continuing status committees, as well as their support staff, for the expertise and hard work they contributed to these important processes.

Dr. Elizabeth Buckner of the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education has been granted tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor, effective July 1, 2023. Dr. Buckner’s research examines how global trends affect higher education policies, institutional practices, and students’ lives. As Canada Research Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Global Development, she examines how sustainable development is integrated into the fabric of universities and the organization-level outcomes associated with this. Dr. Buckner teaches courses on comparative higher education, the internationalization of higher education, the sociology of higher education, and research design.

Dr. Michelle Dubek of the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning has been granted continuing status and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, effective July 1, 2024. Dr. Dubek’s research focuses on innovative science pedagogy and assessment as well as teacher learning in STEM contexts, with the goal of supporting teacher candidates as they interpret and integrate contemporary science education theory and policy into their pedagogical practice. She teaches Science and Environmental Education foundation courses in the Master of Teaching program.

Please join me in congratulating these outstanding faculty members on their well-deserved achievement!

Warm regards,

Erica
