Dear ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø Community,

I am delighted to share the news of a new faculty appointment resulting from our 2021-22 search in Statistics and Machine Learning Application in Education. Dr. Feng Ji began a tenure stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development. Dr. Ji received a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2022 with previous training and degrees in psychology and education. Dr. Ji has extensive expertise in statistical and quantitative methods and software, machine learning/deep learning, and statistical computing with applications in education and psychology. His peer-reviewed articles have appeared in such journals as Psychometrika, Psychological Methods, Multivariate Behavioral Research, Child Development and Applied Linguistics. Dr. Ji’s academic expertise is complemented by considerable industry experience: at Google as a full-time PhD data scientist, and at ACT as a doctoral research intern for the ACTNext Advanced Psychometric Team.
