The Building Bridges Handbook is a detailed resource guide developed in order to begin the discussion of what lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) families need in early childhood environments. The handbook briefly outlines LGBTQ terminology and history. The majority of the handbook examines the experiences of children of LGBTQ families in Early Childhood Education (ECE) environments. The handbook contains detailed suggestions for integrating LGBTQ families into ECE curriculum.

The Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice Opens in a new tab or windowsets out the professional knowledge, skills, values and expectations applicable to all registered early childhood educators (RECEs) regardless of role and the setting in which they may practise. It also communicates to RECEs and the public the scope and nature of the profession. As regulated professionals, RECEs are expected to act with integrity and adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice at all times within their workplace and the community.
