Application deadline for Non-degree special students intending to enrol in a fall 2023 course. Non-degree special students can be defined as students who choose to take coursework and are not registered in a program of study that leads to a degree.

Registration for 2023 Fall/2024 Winter begins.

 Students become REGISTERED:

• when the Minimum Payment to Register Amount displayed on their current session ACORN invoice is credited to their student account
• or they have successfully submitted an OSAP deferral to register on ACORN
• or have an approved request to register without payment (fee deferral for award) in place

Student will see status “Registered” (REG) on ACORN when registration is complete.

If you obtained a tuition deferral (register without payment) to register for the session,  pay outstanding fees by the Fall term, Winter term or Summer session payment deadlines.  .

Intent to Graduate: �������� master's students expecting to finish all degree requirements in Summer should submit the �������� Intent to Graduate form between June 15 and July 15 (this year the form will open between June 22 and July 22). Students who complete in Summer, will graduate at Fall (November) Convocation.

The first cycle of course enrolment for Fall and full year courses is July 12th to July 25th.  There is no enrolment on July 26th.  On July 27th, enrolment will reopen and unused spaces are opened to other student categories as noted in course comments on the Course Schedule.

UTORMFA is the University of Toronto’s multi-factor authentication solution. In an effort to enhance security, starting August 9, 2023, students who have already signed up for UTORMFA will be prompted to use multi-factor authentication when logging in to ACORN along with their UTORid.

New students who have not enrolled in UTORMFA within the 14-day period after setting up their UTORid, will be blocked from all U of T applications, including ACORN, until they complete their UTORMFA enrolment. .

Recommended tuition fee payment deadline for students registering or starting their program in the Fall session to ensure payment is received by the registration deadline of September 15, and to avoid cancellation of registration and course enrolment. International students must make a payment by this date to ensure they are covered by the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) at the beginning of September.

Deadline for receipt of fully completed and authorized Individual Reading and Research Course forms for September start. �������� graduate programs restrict the maximum number of IRR courses that a student can take; see the IRR form.

Labour Day (University closed)

Classes begin for 2023 Fall Term and 2023-24 full-year courses.  ��������  has a 12 Week Fall term which ends December 1, 2023. The Master of Teaching program Fall Term is from September 11 to December 11.   �������� does not have a Fall  reading week.

Grades for all Summer session courses available for viewing by students on ACORN

Required for those students graduating at November (Fall) graduation:

• Final Grades for all courses on ACORN; all SDF's must be resolved.
• Departmental MRP completion forms for those in a MRP program
• Fully signed Departmental Degree Recommendation forms for Masters students completing a thesis (Student must send our office the email from EDT/ProQuest confirming that the final Masters thesis has been uploaded by September 27)
• receipt of notification for addition of Completed Emphasis/Fields to appropriate student records
• receipt of notification of Completed Collaborative Specializations from the Collaborative. (Students must notify the collaborative that they intend to graduate)
• For Doctoral candidates, the final thesis must be successfully uploaded by September 15 in order to avoid fees for the fall term,  In order to graduate at November graduation the thesis must be successfully uploaded by September 29th. 

Registration deadline - Status on ACORN must be Registered for students registering or starting their program in the Fall (September to December) session; after this date, a late registration fee will be assessed. Your status changes to "Registered" when your payment is received from your bank or via fee deferral based on approval of funding (OSAP).

Final date to submit final doctoral theses to SGS to avoid fee charges for 2023-24

Deadline date to request a Status Change for the fall session.  Many �������� programs offer both a full-time status and a part-time status and we allow students to email requests to switch back and forth; however there are certain status change restrictions.  Each status allows for a maximum course load, If you have dropped a course or courses that now make you eligible for part-time status you must email us by today.  This is also the day that ~50% for withdrawal from a session begins, . (you must also email us if you wish to withdraw from this session, assuming your program allows for withdrawing from a session.)

Payment deadline to avoid service charges on unpaid Fall (September to December) session tuition and non-tuition fees for students registered in the Fall session only, except for those who have successfully registered without payment because they are receiving a full funding package via a research stipend, a major award or scholarship, teaching assistantships, tuition waiver, and/or sponsorships. Monthly service charges will begin accruing on October 16

Deadline date to drop Fall session courses without academic penalty via ACORN.  Dropping a course(s) does not change your status to part-time, you must send an email requesting the change by the proper deadline ( approx the date for 50% refund for each session),  Check your eligibility for the change under: Continuous Registration and Status Change Restrictions .    Dropping courses is not the same as withdrawing from the session. Recommended tuition fee payment deadline for all tuition fees billed for the 2023 tax year (Winter 2023, Summer 2023, and Fall 2023) for students who want eligible 2023 tuition fee payments to be reported on the 2023 calendar T2202 tax certificate, available for students to view and print on ACORN on February 21, 2024

Recommended tuition fee payment deadline for students registering or starting their program in the Winter session (i.e., those who were not registered in the previous Fall session) to ensure payment is received by the registration deadline of January 12, and to avoid cancellation of registration and course enrolment.

Instructor eMarks Grade Submission date for 2023 Fall (September to December) session courses. Deadline date for SDF designation for 2023 Summer session,  courses to be changed to a regular grade or a Fz.

Final date for receipt of master's degree recommendations from �������� graduate units and submission of any required theses for March or June graduation for master's students without fees being charged for the Winter session.

Final date to submit final doctoral theses for March graduation (in absentia).  January 15th was the final date to submit without payment of Winter session fees.

Final date for fall term finisher �������� students to request that their degrees be conferred in absentia in March. Please be reminded that students accepting degrees in absentia are not eligible to attend convocation ceremonies .

Students dually registered in the Fall session must be recommended for the master's degree by
this date to maintain their PhD registration
